Iskratel MPS  – Modular Power Supply

Tailor-made power-supply solutions represent an important market demand, both now and in the future

Iskratel upgraded its power-supply product line in 2008, the Iskratel MPS, with a new system that represents a replacement for the present set of power supplies.

The MPS 1000 is a modular power-supply system with capacities that can be adjusted to the power requirements of users, within the framework of predefined power capacities. Iskratel can, therefore, provide the market with a power supply for max. 25-A loads (MPS1000.25), and its most powerful system for up to 1500-A loads (MPS1000.1500).

The systems comprise state-of-the-art building blocks that comply with ever-stricter power-supply standards. They are also equipped with a number of measurement sensors and interfaces that provide remote supervision and management.

The MPS1000 power-supply system is designed to supply uninterruptible electrical power to telecommunications equipment at 48V. The systems convert the mains voltage in order to both supply the equipment and charge the batteries. In the event of an AC-supply failure, the MPS switches over to the battery supply to power the equipment. AC-supplied equipment can be supported using an integrated DC/AC inverter. The system elements can be integrated into the exchange equipment racks, including the wall-mounted chassis of the very small SI2000 exchange, or for larger capacities, in stand-alone ETSI or 19" racks that have the same structure as the exchange racks.

All systems are provided with forced cooling from fan units. The cooling power is controlled by a microprocessor from a central location via a unified SI3000 MNS management system.
