Iskratel launches Gemini40F

Kranj, 7 September 2009 – Iskratel, actively participating at the Broadband Forum in Paris, is launching its newest FTTH network-termination product, the Gemini40F, probably the lowest-power-consumption FTTH modem available on the market.
With the Gemini40F FTTH modem, Iskratel introduces its latest FTTH Ethernet point-to-point access solution. This new approach to implementing broadband access brings significant advantages for open-access operators. Besides lowering the operator’s CAPEX and delivering simple usage, the product excels in a significant reduction of power consumption. The power consumption is over 4 times lower than the reference limits of the EU Code of Conduct on Energy Consumption of Broadband Equipment. This puts the Gemini40F FTTH modem among the green and highly efficient technologies in the broadband market.

The Gemini40F FTTH modem supports the delivery of all triple-play services – internet, VoIP and IP video, including bandwidth-consuming HDTV. Its unique, embedded management through the Iskratel Central Office access node SI3000 MSAN contributes to the products’ efficiency, cost effectiveness and accessibility.

With a 4-port switch installed, the Gemini40F FTTH network termination enables service separation and prioritization with bandwidth limitation. The newest Iskratel CPE product is built to best suit the operator’s needs, offering multiple housing options and custom features such as local powering using PoE.
