The SI3000 AS application server performs two roles in the operator's network. It provides a service development and service execution environment. Application Server is the central element of Iskratel SI3000 NGN network architecture it acts as a framework for running and deploying value added services.
SI3000 AS in the Network
The SI3000 AS is an independent service development and deployment platform. It is typically connected to a SI3000 CS and SI3000 SMGs. These elements are integral parts of Iskratel product portfolio or other 3rd party vendors' products that base on compliant standard interfaces.
SI3000 AS application server acts as a separate platform for deploying services such as conferencing, user availability management, call monitoring and design of voice user interface based on speech technologies. SI3000 AS interacts with a wide variety of applications and technologies known from the IT world.
Scalability and flexibility
The SI3000 AS is designed to support various hardware configuration models from single-server systems to a cluster model, allowing the tuning of the SI3000 AS configuration to the specific network requirements. The SI3000 AS allows sequential growth of the system capacity, the initial setup can be later upgraded in order to match the growing demand for capacity or to support the introduction of new services or features. Services are deployed using the compact or distributed SI3000 AS setup model.
Highest level of availability and stability
Individual application server units can operate independently. Integration with the centralized management and flexible configuration options ensures supervision and properly balanced operation of all the application servers in the network, even in the case of potential fallouts.
The SI3000 AS ensures security and privacy
The security concepts of the SI3000 AS are based on providing security at all levels: the user access level, the AS modules interconnection level and the AS-CS-SMG interaction level. Various security mechanisms are applied on every AS module and on every service deployed on the AS (secure connections, authentication and authorization of services and clients, single-sign-on, network configuration). Security mechanisms can be configured to match the demand for each particular service, region or network.
