The IMS-architecture-based solutions enable the uniform provision of multimedia services, regardless of the type of access. The use of a uniform service architecture provides a significant competitive advantage for the operator: a uniform and flexible access to different services for its subscribers.
Using its own and its partners’ products, Iskratel provides integral IMS solutions. A significant advantage of Iskratel’s solutions is the possibility of a gradual migration from an NGN towards an IMS network, which enables the operator to adapt its strategy of migration towards IMS to the market’s requirements.
Competitive advantages of the Iskratel solution
Iskratel has a long tradition in the field of the development of telecommunications products and solutions. Based on its experience, Iskratel can understand the needs of its customers and can optimally customize its solutions to their needs. Iskratel can either build the entire IMS network for its customers or just set up an individual network element, necessary in a certain phase of the network’s evolution. Network elements used in Iskratel’s IMS solutions represent the evolution of the products of the SI2000 and SI3000 lines. In certain segments, partner products (Hewlett Packard, Acme Packet, etc.) are integrated into Iskratel’s solutions.
The migration towards IMS requires network-element adoption in the service delivery, core and access parts of the network. The goal of the process is to achieve the adoption of the newly offered services by the end users, regardless of the installed access technology.
With Iskratel’s solutions the migration towards IMS is provided in two general steps, called the softswitch-based PES (PSTN Emulation Subsystem) and the IMS-based PES. The first step (softswitch-based), besides interconnection to the PSTN, takes into account existing PSTN and IP end users under the control of the SI3000 CS (Call Server), with SIP-I/T interconnection to third-party softswitches. Advanced services are provided to the end users with the SI3000 AS (Application Server) and application servers from Iskratel’s partners (e.g., Broadsoft, Hewlett-Packard). In the second step (IMS-based) the SI3000 IMS performs a central Call Session Control Function (CSCF) for the PSTN and IP subscribers. Advanced (business) features are deployed with the SI3000 AS and Business Feature Servers on different access technologies (e.g., POTS, ISDN, SIP) and computing platforms (IP TV, desktop computer, laptop computer, mobile terminals).
