Benefits
- Secure investments in access fiber plants
- Advantage is the cost: a wealth of analog cable products are available at a low price to build out the head-end
- No set-top boxes are required to decode the video inside the customer’s home
- Reducing the cost of implementation
- Converter introduces the flexible housing with fiber optic CATV receiver and fiber cord amortization
- Is designed to be used at end user site
To secure investments in access fiber plants, traditional user segment should be taking into account as well. When it comes to deploying the video service over fiber, video is transmitted to radio frequencies (RF) and signals are then carried across the fiber network as RF over fiber. The least expensive solution is to broadcast analog video over the fiber infrastructure in the same manner as an analog cable system. One advantage is the cost: a wealth of analog cable products are available at a low price to build out the head-end. Also, no set-top boxes are required to decode the video inside the customer’s home, further reducing the cost of implementation.
Fiber Termination Unit (FTU) Oberon with RF Fiber-Coax converter introduces the flexible housing with fiber optic CATV receiver and fiber cord amortization. It is designed to be used at end user site in fiber CATV distribution network. The CATV receiver receives the optical signal and converts it into standard analog TV signal.
The flexible housing enables easy integration with Iskratel IP Home Gateway (e.g. Prospero). Unit enables powering and side or on top mounting of HGW Prospero with single power supply adapter. In addition storage for fiber optic cable is provided in same housing.
