The SI3000 Ring Back Tones solution allows network subscribers to replace the standard ring-back tone (the sound that a caller hears while waiting for an answer by a subscriber) with another sound (tone, music, sound effects) from a predefined list of available sounds.
The RBT service is implemented as a web portal, providing subscribers with a simple and intuitive web graphical user interface for browsing the list of available sounds that can be initiated from any internet browser. It also provides the voice-user interface for browsing the list of available sounds. The voice interface is based on VoiceXML technology and allows access to the service from any DTMF-enabled telephone. Administration of the service is provided within the SI3000 Management System (SI3000 MNS) and allows the administrator to configure the list of available sounds.
The SI3000 Ring Back Tones solution provides all the basic components of the service:
- web and voice (IVR) self-provisioning part, allowing subscribers to select browse and select the ring-back tones via the web and voice portal;
- storage capacity for storing the RBT audio files;
- API for integration of the RBT service into external systems and portals;
- run-time operation - playing selected sound to the calling parties when calling subscribers are using the service;
- administration of the service (user administration and RBT sound-library administration).
Typical solution is deployed
The service can be deployed in combination with the SI3000 CS and SI3000 SMG, and also with other third-party TDM-switch or soft-switch products that can play a sound file from an external source to the ringing party instead of the default ring-back tone.
The SI3000 RBT service is delivered on the SI3000 Application Server platform. It is based on the SI3000 MSCN cost-efficient high-volume hardware or standard Intel platforms and is also integrated into the central SI3000 MSCN management system, enabling the RBT service to inherit all the proven characteristics of the SI3000 MSCN products, such as stability, reliability and manageability.
