The SI3000 WEBCAs – WEB Communication Assistant is a service that can be used as a self-provisioning www portal available via internet browsers on PC, GSM, and PDA for local subscribers.
The self-provisioning www portal is a basic functionality of the SI3000 WEB Communication Assistant and allows users to initiate ordinary phone calls (Click2Dial or C2D functionality), monitor and control active calls or receive notifications about incoming calls, view the phonebook entries or list calls (missed, received, dialed), control the status information and monitor the status information of other subscribers. A complete set of functions can be provided only for the local subscriber. In the case of remote subscribers (subscribers on third-party switches), the self-provisioning functions such as call forwarding and DND, and the processing of incoming calls are limited.
The self-provisioning www portal is delivered on the SI3000 Application Server platform. It is implemented as a Java-based web portal and uses standard HTML code with Web 2.0 (Ajax) script extensions, which can be executed by the internet browsers available within various devices: Internet Explorer, Mozilla, Firefox, Opera, Fresco.
The SI3000 WEB Communication Assistant also provides extensions such as Instant Messaging/Chat, e-mail, Voice Mail and SMS. The Instant-Messaging/Chat service allows users to chat and send text messages directly to other subscribers or join various chat rooms using the simple user interface. Similar to Instant Messaging, the e-mail service will provide a user interface for sending or reviewing e-mails and the basic administration of e-mail accounts or mailboxes. When deployed with the SI3000 Voice Mail system the SI3000 WEB Communication Assistantr can also offer access to Voice Mail messages from the same interface. If connected to a mobile-network infrastructure, the SI3000 Web Communicator also allows communication via SMS messages.
