The SI2000 Voice & Access GW (SI2000 VGW) is an access node of the previous-generation SI2000, designed for use in public and private next generation networks. Its primary role is to connect VoIP equipment (e.g., VoIP phones, VoIP terminal adapters, PC Phones, etc.) to the existing PSTN environment. It is based on the well-known SI2000 access node, with an extra attached module for connection to a packet-based network.
The SI2000 VGW is available in the standard SI2000 chassis that can be mounted in all standard racks. Its unique advantage is easy integration into the existing access equipment, especially because of its standard V5.2 signaling.
The current SI2000 VGW version features up to 30 voice channels. Like the entire SI2000 family, the gateway is managed by means of the standard and common Iskratel management node.
