Iskratel has been named finalist for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) Innovation Award for its vIMS solution at the World Communication Awards (WCA) 2017. The WCA event, organized by a leading Telco publication and event organizer Total Telecom, was held in London, England, November 29.
About Iskratel’s vIMS solution
Launched last year, vIMS provides IP-based consolidation of core networks and enables the convergence of fixed and mobile assets, guaranteeing scalability and seamless interoperability with legacy networks and driving this evolution to the 5G core. This also supports the rapid introduction of flexible, real-time services for consumer and business users.
Iskratel’s vIMS solution has already been deployed by a major European Tier-1 operator which is now able to provide enhanced services to SIP-based customers and interconnect customers on legacy equipment, as well as reduce OpEx and Capex. The solution has proven it can overcome the challenges operators are facing by allowing a smooth, cost-effective and rapid migration to cloud-based infrastructure and applications. Iskratel has enabled the operator to meet the national regulator’s requirements of the lawful interception of telecommunications and telephone networks – and the handling of emergency service calls – and has reduced the implementation costs three-fold in comparison to standard network modernisation methods.
