With more than 70 years of experience and knowledge in electronic manufacturing services (EMS) and according to company’s strategic initiatives, Iskratel EMS is entering into medical segment. During more than seven decades Iskratel has been shaping telecommunications industry with producing complex products and solutions, and in the last 10 years their extensive experience has been extended to several other industries by providing state-of-the-art service to company’s respected EMS partners.

In the beginning of the year they started to obtain medical standard EN ISO 13485 and are expecting to be certified in Q3 2019. In the first phase they will offer assembly of printed circuits boards (SMT, THT, Testing) or box build (Integration, packaging …) principle for diagnostic medical devices. Later their goal is to offer services on more complex products and solutions, including data analytics.

According to COO and EMS Business Unit Director at Iskratel, Sašo Šimec and Manufacturing director, Jernej Polič, negotiations with some manufacturers of medical devices already took place; majority of them is coming from Alpe-Adria region and Russian-speaking countries, where Iskratel is already well-known. In addition, they will also focus on DACH region, where they plan to establish representative office. To follow strategic initiative and focus areas, they have also adapted their investment cycle.

Beside medical segment, Iskratel EMS strategy is also to enter new, growing segments with focus on the areas where they can help shaping our future and improving living conditions, as for example clean energy and waste management. Their goal is to become an important partner and supplier to their respected customers.
