Under the agreement, HFC Technics will be able to offer a number of Iskratel GPON-based products, enabling a fast and economical way to deliver high-speed broadband services and addressing the large and growing potential of the Hungarian market. These products include the SI3000 Lumia, a cost-effective OLT which serves all deployment densities and supports all business models or regulatory requirements, and the Innbox G-series family of ONTs featuring a full range of functions and home-networking technologies, including CATV RF overlay.
A number of the solutions HFC Technics can now offer as a result of the partnership were showcased for the first time this week at the 4th Cable Convergence Conference.
“This partnership is incredibly significant as it will enable HFC Technics to arm operators with high-performance and high-reliability products at lower investment and operating costs, ensuring a smooth migration from cable to fiber for service providers and helping them to achieve and sustain profitability,” said Gasparic Jozef, Solution Director for Iskratel Telco ICT Solutions. “Consumer demands for connectivity, in terms of both speed and capacity, have already increased exponentially and with trends like the Internet of Things continuing to gather momentum, service providers must build the foundations of tomorrow’s networks today.”
HFC Technics’ collaboration with Iskratel has been enabled by Iskratel’s partner program, which empowers local suppliers to become broadband leaders within their own communities by reselling Iskratel broadband products and solutions. Partners are also provided with e-learning and on-site training, so they can provide key guidance within their local markets.
The 4th Cable Convergence Conference, organized by HFC Technics and Equicom KFT, was held in Budapest from Tuesday, April 4 and covered a wide range of topics, including EU-funded GPON and network development projects, active central-office equipment and home gateways, and measurement equipment for monitoring bandwidth speeds or determining OTDR parameters. The event attracted middle- and top-level executives of the CATV market, with the latest technologies and solutions – such as Iskratel’s network-processor-based GPON system – also on display.
