Within such environments, a single Wi-Fi access point is not enough to cover the complete house or apartment. To reap the benefits of wireless connectivity and to improve Wi-Fi coverage and performance, satellite access points are inevitable in addition to the home gateway. A dynamically established mesh Wi-Fi network between the satellite access points facilitates the use of bandwidth-consuming services on wireless clients throughout the building. 

In a mesh network, even the farthest satellite is able to deliver a strong Wi-Fi signal. Using a single SSID and password, the mesh Wi-Fi network facilitates seamless roaming, with smooth hand-off between satellites for a continuous, non-interrupted wireless experience.
